2007 PAPAG Nominations

 
The Physician Assistant Professional Advisory Group

The Physician Assistant Professional Advisory Group (PAPAG) provides advice and consultation to the Surgeon General, through the Health Services Professional Advisory Committee (HS-PAC) and Health Services Chief Professional Officer (HS-CPO) on professional and personnel issues related to PHS Physician Assistants.  The PAPAG is looking for seven (7) new voting members. Selections, which are based on the nominee’s commitment to public health and PA activities, in addition to specified criteria in the PAPAG Bylaws (e.g., organizational, gender, minority representation), will begin August 2006. Terms of office will begin January 2007 and shall be for 3 years.

PAPAG voting members are expected to participate in scheduled teleconference meetings as required by the groups’ needs. Members may be excused from a meeting with prior approval from the PAPAG Chair. Each PHS active duty voting member shall meet Office of Force Readiness and Deployment (OFRD) basic readiness qualifications. Membership in the PHS Academy of Physician Assistants (PHSAPA) is strongly encouraged but not required. PHS civil service, inactive reservist and retiree PAs are eligible for appointment as voting members, however are not expected to meet OFRD basic readiness qualifications.

Please complete the self- nomination form and send it along with a current CV, CV summary sheet and cover letter describing how your specific experience and expertise will benefit the PAPAG. The completed package must be submitted via email no later than June 30, 2006 to LT Mark F. McKinnon at mmckinnon5@gmail.com.
